After having a nice dinner for three at a downtown restaurant, my wife, daughter, and I walked down the block toward the Jackson Street Pier for a concert set up on the grassy lawn. As we walked through the Schade-Mylander Plaza at the foot of Columbus Avenue, we passed by a throng of cyclists riding north on Columbus Avenue and turning west down Water Street – many of whom ‘ka-jinged’ their bicycle bells and shouted out greetings of “Happy Thursday!” to the pedestrians they saw along the way.
I snapped this photo and have since learned that it is apparently a weekly Thursday evening ritual of a local group called Sandusky Bay Cycles. You can read more about their weekly ride here.
